Abstract: |
The objective of this article is to model the variation in mathematics achievement of Lebanese and Singaporean eighth-graders as a function of student- and school-level factors by using the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) data.This article consists of abriefdescription of the educational system background of Lebanon and Singapore; this is followed by a review of research on school effectiveness and multilevel modelling, the theoretical framework of the study, and discussion of the factors explored in the study. |
